The final blog post this week is what strengths does feature writing have over news writing? What weaknesses?
For both of these types of writing, I do not believe that there is one that is better than the other. Both of them are important in different ways and for different types of stories. Feature writing covers more lifestyle and histories rather than current events. While feature writing can delve into reported news, it is not considered news writing. News writing is better suited for major events such as court cases, crime reporting, and/or any political news.
Feature writing cares more about the people of the issue, not the actual issue. They want to talk to people who offer different perspectives on war or political outrages. Featuring writing does tend to be a bit longer in its writing, but it is usually for a good cause. News writing is very important to make people aware of risks and issues that are affecting them, and it is a bit more concise than feature writing.
